Join Preservation Texas for an evening presentation by Danielle Brissette, site manager of the Magoffin Home State Historic Site, as she takes us behind the scenes of one of El Paso’s most significant restoration projects.
Built in 1875, the Magoffin Home is a rare adobe homestead that embodies the stories of a multicultural family whose legacy shaped the Southwest borderlands. The Magoffin family played pivotal roles in American expansion, West Texas settlement, trade along the Santa Fe–Chihuahua Trail, the turmoil of the Civil War, and U.S.–Mexico relations.
Brissette will share the vision and plans for the site’s $4.1 million restoration, funded by the Texas Historical Commission and the State of Texas, now underway. Discover how this meticulous effort will safeguard not only an architectural treasure, but an enduring story that continues to unfold.
