2026 Central Texas Preservation Month Party
Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the Kyle Log House
Celebrate National Historic Preservation Month with Preservation Texas! Join us on May 16th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for an exclusive member tour and gathering at the Claiborne Kyle Log House (2400 Old Stagecoach Road, Kyle, TX). Attendees will enjoy an afternoon of great food, drinks, and live music in a uniquely historic setting. Lunch is included with admission.
About the Kyle Log House
Built circa 1850, the Kyle Log House is a rare four-pen dogtrot log home that remains on its original site, perched on a bluff above the Blanco River. The site has been closed to the public for many years, but the Claiborne Kyle Log House Commission is opening the gates for one afternoon exclusively for Preservation Texas members!
Recent archeological research has brought new discoveries to light, now featured in updated exhibits inside the house. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore an important site that is not usually open to the public, learn about its history, and connect with fellow preservation enthusiasts while supporting Preservation Texas and our mission.
Admission
Admission includes access to the Kyle Log House grounds and exhibits, along with lunch and one drink ticket per attendee.
PRESERVATION TEXAS MEMBER ADMISSION: $25
FIRST-TIME MEMBER ADMISSION: $35 (includes complimentary one-year Individual-level introductory membership)
Please note: the first-time member ticket option is only available to those who have never previously been Preservation Texas members. If your membership has lapsed, you will need to renew to attend this event. Lapsed members will have the option to renew during registration.
